The pain of applying for exchange with average grades and having the need to map 5 courses back. Finally found 5 schools after nights.

Time to sleep and work on the write up for the next few nights. BAAAA

The talks with my supervisor in the last 2 days made me felt like I can plan out a path in my career especially with the company. The opportunities he lay out in front of me and the fact that he is helping me to create opportunities.

I feel that more and more our lives are already planned out for us, may be coincidental. But everything do happen for a reason and whatever options/decisions we made they ultimately lead us to where we are. Not only this time round, but I seriously think it’s true.

I was pretty stuck on the idea of having a career in the business development sector, taking marketing to complement management and also out of interest. All along I thought that I would end up with a marketing internship and I almost did. One day would have made a whole lot of differences, could have end up doing the digital marketing internship. My summer would have been so different.

So because of that one day, I ended up taking up this current internship, with almost no clue what was my expectations then and what area I would be working on. Everything is so much clearer now, it’s closer to what I have been hoping for, biz-d, strategies.

This 4 weeks has got to be one of the most fulfilling weeks. From mistaking Chevron as Chevrolet to completely not knowing about lubricant additives and the industry before I started. To knowing so much more about this booming industry, how a MNC works, how great the company culture is, going through a company wide meeting, doing community service with these working adults, dinner, drinks, fun and laughters. It’s pretty crazy, how much I’m getting out of it. (: I guess my boss and colleagues have already prepared me for it. Telling me that I will get to meet a lot of interesting people (true), how I would find this internship really interesting and how they are so appreciative when I helped with the minion work to get ready for the meetings and how they joke about how tough the internship is because of all the ‘physical work’. Minion work doesn’t even felt like one after all.

It drives you, the whole environment. I guess I’m setting my own expectations in the workplace already and I do want to strive to contribute to the company as much as I can with my limited knowledge.

I have to say first half of the year started off really great (Birthday, Bali), getting through the semester with relatively more ease, doing the modules that stirred my interest, awesome groupmates in almost all my projects, doing well, pulling up my gpa, getting an awesome internship, trip to Aussie with my primary school friends after internship and more…

Counting my blessings already (:

Typing this because I couldn’t sleep. Waking up in 3 hours for work!
